Ricky Caperton

Ricky Caperton, AICP (American Institute of Certified Planners), is the Planning Manager at the City of
Napa. Mr. Caperton has been in the land use planning profession for thirteen years, of which six were in the
private sector and the last 7 for the public sector, including the City of Fresno (CA), City of Clovis (CA), and
the City of Napa, where he currently holds his position. Mr. Caperton has a B.A. in Environmental Studies
and Planning from Sonoma State University, and a Master of Environmental Law and Policy from
Vermont Law School.

Mr. Caperton is also a member of the American Planning Association (APA) and has previously served on
the State Board of Directors for the California Association of Environmental Professionals (AEP) where he
worked closely with students and emerging professionals in the environmental planning profession
throughout the state.

Through his profession as an urban planner, Ricky has a passion for helping the community grow and
assisting community members to navigate the complexities of establishing, expanding, and growing
their businesses within Napa and beyond. In his free time, Ricky spends time with his wife, Megan, who is an elementary school teacher, and their son Elliott, who will start kindergarten in the fall.
