Business Highlight- Truevir Financial

Happy Spring 2024! Finally, some sunshine after a wet winter here in Northern California. We are excited to highlight another business that we know is changing the lives of many. Mentioning money and finances is a taboo in Hispanic households. Many of us can relate to the poor education about saving, how credit works, and how to build wealth. The standard in our community is to stuff money in a checking account while losing value due to inflation.

TrueVir Financial is changing this in our community. Founded and run by Justin Corpus, a graduate of our local school systems, he has made it his mission to educate his community on building generational wealth, maximizing retirement plans, and erasing “bad” debt. They offer various services through their company but mainly focus on tax-free retirement, debt consolidation, and business planning. Justin also prides himself on the team he has built, as they service both English/Spanish communities and are customer-focused. They realize that everyone’s financial situation is different and structure each plan to reflect that with your best interest in mind.

We sat down with Justin to learn about his business and their services. Remember that Justin and his team are fiduciaries, which means they are legally obligated to do what’s best in your best interest! Let’s get into our quick interview.

There are a lot of different financial instruments like savings accounts or stocks. Which one does Truevir Financial specialize in?

Everyone’s situation is different, and we work with all our clients to ensure the financial strategy we recommend works for them and their situation/goals. Here at Truevir, we specialize in cash-value life insurance. This financial instrument can help you be your own bank, consolidate debt, repair credit, build generational wealth, and much more! The main benefit depends on your situation and what is most important to you. Is it retirement? Saving for college tuition? Have some extra income every month?

What do you mean by being your own bank?

Cash value life insurance allows you to take loans against your policy at a fixed rate. So let’s say you sign up for a policy and fund $10,000 in the plan. You can then borrow against it.

For example, you can borrow $5,000 at a fixed interest rate of 3%, but your account earns as if it still had $10,000. It is also not reported to credit bureaus! So your credit is protected. This is a great alternative for those who want to be able to leverage debt without hurting their credit.

What is Cash Value Life-Insurance?

Cash value life insurance is life insurance that is tied to certain stock indexes. There are two main types that we work with.

  1. Whole life insurance
  2. Indexed Universal Life

Each one has its benefits, but it depends on your goals and how aggressive you want to be with your investing.

You mentioned that Whole Life or Indexed Life Insurance Plans are all about how they’re structured. Could you elaborate on that?

Yes, how your account is structured makes all the difference. You want to keep your death benefit as low as possible and the cash value high. Other companies set up plans with a high death benefit as they receive a higher commission.

Here at Truevir Financial, we pride ourselves on our transparency and dedication to ensuring your success with us. We use cash-value life insurance as a financial tool to help you achieve financial independence.

How can anyone interested find out more?

All of our services are free. Our financial strategists love educating the community about our services. We frequently have free seminars where we educate and offer value to the community. Cash value life insurance explained.

Business Highlight

Alure Brands, Breathe Tape

Pictured above, Alure Brands’ most well-known product, Breathe Tape.

The rise of the internet has transformed how we do business. It’s transformed how we find our target audience and how we market to them. One of the members of our Marketing Committee experienced that. He was born in 1995, a crossroad before the boom of the internet and smartphones.

After spending almost ten years in the wine industry, he found himself at a crossroads. He grew increasingly frustrated working in the wine industry, as he didn’t think it was forward-thinking in a world that is turning completely digital. “The wine industry still does business like it’s in the 1980’s. If you’ve worked at a winery in Napa, you’ve experienced how slow business moves and how outdated all systems are.”

Looking Forward

He took the skills that he acquired mainly working in sales and marketing in the wine industry, and applied them to growing online businesses. Competition is fierce in any industry, but even more online. You are no longer competing with the other businesses in your city. You are competing with the entire world. Uniqueness and the ability to develop a brand are key to separate yourself from competitors.

With his experience working at luxury wineries in the Napa Valley, he turned his sights to Alure Brands. Selling wine or any other alcohol is one of the most difficult things to sell. Why? Because there are only so many things you can or are legally allowed to say. What differentiates you from your neighbor winery or a winery in Oregon? Storytelling and brand building have made wineries like Robert Mondavi and Hall Wines so successful. And that’s the same approach he took when building Alure Brands.

The Inspiration for Breathe Tape

With the internet, we are in an age of constant nonstop information. Social media feeds you nonstop content, and their algorithms are optimized to keep you interested. In the self-improvement space, figures such as James Nestor and Andrew Huberman have become rock stars.

James Nestor is a New York Times Best Seller who wrote a book on how we breathe, ironically called Breathe: The New Science of a Lost Art. He begs people to stop mouth breathing as he warns that it is killing them and negatively affecting their health in more ways than one could imagine. Andrew Huberman is a Stanford University Neuroscientist who hosts the Huberman Lab, which is one the biggest podcasts in the world for optimizing our health.

Both of them urge individuals to avoid mouth breathing at all costs. Through his own experience of sleep taping, his life changed. His sleep, health, and motivation transformed.
