ROTARY DISTRICT 5130 RELIEF FUND BUSINESS GRANT RECOVERY PROGRAM

The Napa Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is glad to provide resources to the community. To apply for the Business Grant Recovery Program, please complete the attached document in its entirety, electronically sign and submit.

Program Goals:

Assist in fire recovery for small businesses in the affected areas of Sonoma, Napa, Lake and Mendocino counties by providing an infusion of funds to allow for re-establishment of business operations. Emphasis is placed assisting agricultural, store front, and home businesses get back into operation and prevention from closure due to losses suffered as a result of the fires.

Program rules:

  • Grants of up to no more than $5,000 will be made based upon demonstrated need.
  • The approved grant does not need to be repaid.
  • A business is only eligible to receive no more than 1 Rotary Business Recovery Grant.
  • The grant may be approved to replace inventory, equipment, tools, uncovered repairs, et al necessary to the re-establishment of the business.
  • Grants cannot replace lost revenues or employee wages
  • Affected businesses that have insurance or have applied for business loans (private or government) are not prevented from applying for the grant.

Process:

* Submit completed and signed Rotary Business Recovery Grant Application to the Rotary District 5130 Fire Relief Fund by either mail to PO Box 2921, Clearlake, CA 95422 or via email to Rotary5130relief@gmail.com

* Business owner will be contacted by a member of the business grant sub-committee who will schedule a site visit to the business and discussion with owner(s)/applicant(s) regarding business needs, how the funds will be used and the impact of the grant on their ability to reopen or continue business operations. The subcommittee will also verify the status of the business prior to the loss associated with the fires.

* The committee will consider the request and assess the viability of the grants funds on allowing the business to remain open or reopen as a result of the grant.

* The business owner will be contacted with the results of their application in a timely manner by a representative of the sub-committee. Business owner will be asked to provide a progress report to the Rotary District 5130 Fire Relief Fund on the status of business operations and the effect of the grant received.

Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by the 2017 North Bay Fires. There are many resources available to those in need.

Everyone’s situation is a bit different so we recommend looking at all the available LAC services.

Residents and business owners are encouraged to visit the NapaLAC for information on what financial assistance programs may be available to them.

The Local Assistance Center

During the time of recovery, knowing which organization and/or company to contact can be confusing. The County of Napa is working together with various state, federal, nonprofit and private agencies to bring you Napa’s Local Assistance Center, also known as NapaLAC.

The idea behind the LAC is to provide a centralized location for information on resources and services. The LAC is located at 2751 Napa Valley Corporate Drive, Building A, Napa, CA 94558 open Monday – Friday 10:00am – 7:00pm and Saturday 10:00am – 5:00pm.

Here is a list of some of the resources available at the LAC:

  • Bay Area Legal Aid – Providing information about your legal rights for entitlement programs (CalFresh, CalWorks, MediCal and General Assistance) and housing, FEMA appeals, protective orders, consumer protection, healthcare access, coverage and billing. Referrals to attorneys on legal advice line.
  • CA Department of Human Resources – Providing connection and information for employment with the state.
  • CA Department of Veterans Affairs – Providing copies of discharge documents
  • CA Department of Tax and Fee Administration – Offer assistance for immediate filing of a request for an extension (of up to 3 months) to file and pay the sales tax returns and relief of penalties, if they were impacted by the disaster. Staff can also lookup sellers permit number and help with accessing records needed for previous returns.
